SELECT * FROM currwill give you all the deleted and updated records (store these in temporary table t_du) ![]() SELECT * FROM histwill give you all the inserted and updated records (store these in temporary table t_iu) Imagine you have two copies of your table, one a history (hist) and the other the current version (curr). If you really can't add an extra column to detect the modified dates (which incidently won't show you the deletes if those are what you are interested in too), then you can use the table snapshot method you are thinking of, but without having to iterate through each of the records to detect things.
